Stress, anxiety, and depression are common and uncomfortable, and experienced by many people at some point in their lives. Counselling can help you make sense of your situation, recover motivation, and help you regain some control of your life.
Anxiety and depression affect at least 1 in 4 of the population. We know that in people affected by cancer, the levels of anxiety and depression are much higher. Sadly, treatment for the emotional and mental struggles is often lacking. This may be the first time you have struggled with anxiety or a low mood. Or anxiety and bouts of depression may be something that you have suffered from in the past or may still be dealing with today. We know that if anxiety or depression has been a problem in the past, then a cancer diagnosis is more likely to cause result a relapse.
Losing a loved one is a hard thing to deal with at any time in life. If it was someone close and they occupied a big space in our life, then the bigger the hole they leave behind, and the harder we feel it. So if you are feeling, sad, angry, alone, broken, frustrated, lost or many of the other emotions that grief brings us, then you are not alone. These are all normal things to feel when living with grief. Having a confidential space and time to talk through how you are doing, can help in coping with grief. Counselling can help you cope with some of these feelings, and I can help to guide you through the process of grief and healing.
